I can't believe it has taken this long for me to blog about our face lift of the little house in the hood! Allison, Caleb and I are having some work done on our little home. It is very very exciting to us.
Caleb got so tired of looking at the flowery mid-50’s wrought iron porch columns on our 1941 home. He was complaining so much, that we had to do something. He was afraid that when he started walking that he would plummet off of the porch and get hurt. Because we are ever conscious and responsive to the tastes and desires of our 7 month old, we decided it was beyond time to fix up the house.
Caleb demanded that the following items get fixed…
1. Replace the wrought iron on the front porch with wood post and rails
2. Fix the leak around the fireplace
3. Replace the rotten siding on the garage
4. Replace the door to the shed at the back of the garage
5. Paint the house and garage
We (Edd – the carpenter) are half-way finished with #1. Edd (the carpenter) will hopefully finish the remaining tasks associated with fix-it item #1 this week and go on to #2 this weekend.
In an effort to document this exciting time, I have included “before” and “middle” pictures of the little house in the hood face lift. The “after” pictures will come later.

After Edd (the carpenter) puts up the railings on the steps, we are going to have to start painting. More pictures are to follow...stay tuned.
